FRUIT BODY: 1-1.5m wide (per cushion). A common species that is nothing more than a cushion of orange jelly found on wood and in large masses. Merging of fruiting bodies takes place with specimens becoming darker and wrinkled with age. Can revive with moisture. GILLS/PORES: N/A. FLESH: Fibrous but easily squashed. SPORES: Orange, allantoid, 3 septate at maturity. HABITAT: On dead and decaying wood. SEASON: Common. Throughout the year. EDIBILITY: Inedible. |
